Taba stock ticker
Set up your stock ticker
Connect Cloudflare, then add your Finnhub API key. The key stays in Cloudflare and is never added to Ghost.
- 1 Connect CloudflareAuthorize your account.
- 2 Add your site and keyChoose an account and add your Finnhub key.
- 3 Add the Ghost snippetCopy one line into Ghost.
Step 1 of 3
Connect Cloudflare
Cloudflare will ask you to approve the connection, then return you here.
Step 3 of 3
Add the snippet to Ghost
Your stock ticker is ready. In Ghost, go to Settings > Advanced > Code Injection. Paste this into Site Header, then select Save.
Add an internal tag such as #stock-AAPL to a post to show its ticker.
Use the stock ticker in Taba
After you add the Ghost snippet, add an internal tag such as #stock-AAPL to a post. Use a traded stock symbol with up to five letters; index symbols are not supported. Taba shows the symbol, current price, and movement on the post and supported post cards.
You can also write a symbol such as $AAPL in a post to show an inline ticker.
How this setup protects your key
The setup creates an Aspire Gateway Worker in your Cloudflare account. Your Finnhub API key is stored there as a secret. Your Ghost site only uses the Worker address, so the key is not included in its code.
Change your site or API key
Run this setup again and use the same Cloudflare account. It updates the existing Worker with your new website address or Finnhub API key. If you use a different Cloudflare account, replace the snippet in Ghost with the new one.
If the ticker does not appear
- Check that the snippet is in Settings > Advanced > Code Injection under Site Header.
- Check that the post has an internal tag in the format
#stock-SYMBOL, for example#stock-AAPL. - Refresh the page. If the problem continues, contact Aspire Themes with your site address and the stock symbol you used.
