2 travel blog examples built with Ghost
A travel site can begin with a place the reader wants to visit. It can also lead with a writer they want to follow. These two Ghost sites show how that choice shapes the homepage and the route to older stories. Voyage Voyage groups hotel stories by place. Loni James introduces her own travel journey.
Both use Aspire themes, with their own content and customizations.
Voyage Voyage
Voyage Voyage opens with a large hotel photograph. Its subject is clear: hotels worth visiting. The Latest groups recent stories below the opening. Sections such as Spain and England collect hotel stories by place. A reader looking for ideas can choose a recent story. Someone interested in Spain can follow its heading to the destination archive.
The Spain link opens a tag archive with its own image and description. It links to the Gran Marbella Resort & Beach Club article. Readers can follow the place from the homepage to one hotel story. This archive gives them a route through the writing. It does not turn the site into a booking directory.
Theme: Hanoi.
Loni James
Loni James introduces herself below a promotion for her guide. She is a traveler, writer and storyteller. She describes setting out to travel full-time and go on a date in every country. That plan links stories from different places. Readers can follow her journey as a whole, not just look for facts about one place. For more writer-led layouts, compare the personal blog examples.
The homepage separates Featured Posts from Recent Posts and links to All Posts. The Blog archive then presents stories with dates, titles, excerpts and images. Returning readers can browse the ongoing series. Featured choices give new readers a place to start.
The homepage also promotes Loni’s own guide through an external shop. That promotion belongs to her site; it is not a shop supplied by the Ubud theme.
Theme: Ubud.
Choose the starting point
Choose the primary route from the work you already publish. For a place-led journal, explore Hanoi’s story and tag layouts. For a site that starts with its writer, try the Ubud demo. Compare its introduction with your own. Think about which stories you want new readers to see.
